UPDATE: After very little use even my 50 lb mixed breed dog found he could get under it just as easily as small dogs. Please don't try to use this to block or contain anything important. It will not work. If my 50 lb dog can walk under it, your little one can. Installing this gate was a headache. The instructions weren't very clear. Once installed we found it incredibly difficult to extend and retract. Neither my 8 year old nor my mother could open this gate without a struggle which means I have to open the gate and let them through as it closes whenever someone wants to get through. Also, my daughter's 15-pound poodle mix slipped underneath easily. As soon as she did, they ALL started doing it, which completely defeated the purpose of the baby gate at first. With something so difficult to pull out, you would think the net would be less flexible. I definitely wouldn't trust it to support a child. The baby can slip under it very easily. Absolute waste of time and money.
