Review on OMAX MD82ES10 40X-2000X Digital LED Compound Microscope with Integrated 1.3MP Camera and Dual Layer Mechanical Stage, Windows and Mac Compatible by Maurice Stavros

I would like to start by saying that this is a good microscope for the price. The optics are pretty decent for non-standard purposes. The build is solid, but I ran into an issue where the condenser mechanism wouldn't stay close to the gate when powered up. I bought a dark field condenser and when I bring it close to the slide (almost touching it) it won't stay in the top position and slowly falls down which is very annoying when viewing samples with a dark field condenser. I have no idea how to delay or prevent this. I have to put my finger underneath to hold it. That's my only downside with this microscope. The video quality is amazing. I plan to upgrade the optics to plan goals at some point. I'm giving this 4 stars because it's a nuisance that the condenser mechanism doesn't stay in place, making viewing with a darkfield condenser a problem.
