Challenging to program

Made in China and costs $15. You can't expect much. I bought it to use with my daughter's miBox along with a 2013 Hisense 1080p LCD. The original remote was lost for years and I bought a miBox to make their TV 'smart' and also have a remote control to turn their Hisense LCD on and off. Your TV had CEC built in, so I figured miBox could turn it on and off. When I received it, it could only turn on the TV. It depended on you turning off the TV, which then turned off the miBox. So you still need two remote controls. That's why I bought this remote control. It was very buggy when I first installed it. It randomly went into TV programming mode or something and wouldn't accept any button presses. I would have to take out the batteries. Every time it lost signal from the receiver, it also went into this weird mode that wouldn't accept button presses. So tip: connect the key before inserting the batteries. Turn on the device with the old remote control so that it immediately receives the remote control information from the key. Insert batteries. Start programming. I would recommend doing this with your back to the TV so you don't accidentally turn it off (I had to do this because when the TV turns off, CEC turns the device off and interrupts the process). Also, stay within 5 meters or within the work area while programming. When you're done, turn your multimedia device off and on again. Airmouse was very nervous until I turned miBox off. It has been working perfectly for the past few hours since I programmed it that way. I will update if anything changes. I removed one star for tricky programming and another star for not being able to use TV program codes. Edit: After jumping through hoops to program this thing, it still reverts to a weird mode where the light flashes red and doesn't work. do not accept keystrokes. I think it happens when it doesn't receive any signal from the key and I feel like miBox is not providing enough power to the key when it's in sleep mode which is causing all these problems. If I can't find any other workarounds, he'll be back tomorrow.
