Review on 🚲 Retro 1999 BMX Brake Set & Lever: Perfect Vintage Upgrade for BMX Enthusiasts by Juan Castillo

My 5 year old rides a Specialized HotRock bike with only a foot brake. Our typical walk into the city center has several busy intersections where we have to get off the bike path rather than the crosswalk. Earlier this week, as my son approached one of these intersections, he ran into a bump that sent his feet off the pedals; he couldn't stop and swam straight into a busy intersection - my heart stopped. Thank God he wasn't hurt, but we were both pretty scared. Today we installed this brake kit on his bike and he practiced going down a small hill with his feet on the pedals and using the handbrake to stop. I'm aware that this braking technology is a bit outdated; However, the kit bolts directly to existing frame holes, is inexpensive, and works reasonably well. I'll probably buy another kit to install as a front brake and add some extra stopping power.
