Review on ๐Ÿ‘ข Tough 1 Half Chaps with Breathable Design by Josh Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great concept for skiing in the heat!

I only gave these 4 stars because I won't be able to ride them for a few weeks and I don't want to judge them just on looks. I will update the review after using it for a while. As for looks, they look solid and solid. I had no trouble putting them on or using the zipper. First I would like to say that I bought the size medium because they were on sale. I have found that cup sizes are very random and depending on the brand I can find Medium, Large, XL, XXL and up. I didn't think I had wide calves, but I haven't found a standard-sized tall boot that fits me yet (and I'm not ready to budget for custom-made shoes just yet), so apparently in line with most manufacturers' standards. The 16.5-inch calves are quite wide at their widest point. The medium sized were significantly cheaper than the large and while I knew it was a gamble as they might not fit, I have a couple of medium sized half cups that do fit, thought it might be worth a try and if they don't fit. do not fit, they will be a good gift for someone else. Luckily they stretch a bit and they fit :D They're comfortable to wear over my thickest jodhpurs, high socks and bib (I wanted to put on as many layers as possible to see if they would stretch) but that's it do not tighten them to cause discomfort. I was perfectly happy walking around the house in them and they felt good on my feet and offered support with no compression. I think with repeated use they stretch a bit and are easier to put on, although it didn't really take much effort to put them on right out of the bag. I love the mesh design. I'm taking classes this summer at a facility that doesn't cancel classes because of the heat like they did with my previous barn classes (this is very surprising to me, they actually train year-round) so I had to go to a bunch invest warm equipment. , and I was glad that they not only existed but were inexpensive. I only go to paddocks and leave my heavy leather trousers behind, but I've found that my very thin summer tights don't protect the skin as well as my thicker breeches. I don't normally have any issues with sores, chafing or tingling when wearing brimmed jodhpurs, but after putting on summer weight tights they don't protect my leg at all and I could use some extra support. I don't know how long these fishnet stockings will last, but if they last as long as I need them in the summer heat then I'll be satisfied as they're affordable enough that I can buy another set next year if I want to. . I've spent some time searching the web and I really couldn't find another half-guy like this, or I could find one for a better price than here on Amazon. UPDATE: These guys were great for summer classes. They did exactly what they had to do. They protected my legs but weren't as hot as the more traditional types. I only wore them for weekly classes and dusted them off after each use and they were fine for that purpose. I don't know how well they will hold up in everyday use, but like I said, they're cheap enough for me that I would comfortably replace them every year if the need arose. Cool guys, I recommend for hot weather rides!
