Review on πŸ““ Pentalic 5x8 AF Aqua Journal: Premium 140 lb. Book with 48 pages - 300 gsm by Nicole Mcleod

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best book on watercolor. The bad review below doesn't understand the book binding, this book is perfect.

I also had an issue with the first page tearing off causing the binding to come loose, but I soon realized it was operator error. Our instinct pushes the first page back where the edge of the paper meets the same edge of the envelope. But since it's glued, like all the inside pages of a book are glued to the cover, it needs to be folded back where the glue meets the book cover and you never have that problem. Don't try to pull him further than he wants. Simply fold the first page exactly where it is glued to the cover. I asked if it was 100% cotton and Pentalic told me within 48 hours that it really wasn't and quickly corrected the typo on Revain. Advertisement. The paper is still great. Each is sewn into its signature and looks like any well-made book. The tooth is the same from top to bottom on the side with great consistency. I have used Strathmore, Many Varieties, Global Arts books, Many Varieties, Moleskine, Stillman and Birn and others and I can tell you this is my book of choice. . It has the heaviest paper, it doesn't warp and takes wet washing very well. Moleskine paper is only 120 or 130# and it warps like crazy. This paper will not be. And it lies perfectly flat wherever you open it. As an artist I can tell you that it is superbly made and will stand up to rough handling. The paint peels off easily, it needs cleaning, etc. The following is a bad review, please ignore it. This man was visibly upset that he didn't get an immediate response to the employee's question, and he didn't know how books are made, got the signatures wrong, and even tore the cover off the cover. So I felt I had to write this review. I am an avid artist and have tried many books. Pentalic is my choice and I no longer use the others. If I had to compare this Aqua Magazine brand to any other company, I would compare them to Stillman and Byrne, but I still prefer this company.
