This is an absolutely amazing sketchbook. I will never use any other kind again now that I have found this one. One of the reviews here mentions that the book "falls apart" and what it describes is what happens when you separate the first two pages. I mean the inner flyleaf and the first watercolor page. Don't make the mistake of assuming the glue accidentally got in there and needs to be taken apart. Because of this, the book falls apart. It is necessary to leave everything as it is and not…

I want to love it as Pentalic seems to be the only company.

I want to love this as Pentalic seems to be the only company that makes watercolor magazines out of 300gsm paper. While I really like the paper inside, the magazine itself isn't very well made. I read some reviews where people had single sheets that just fell out of the magazine and I was a little concerned about that. I think Pentalic read the reviews because they just overdid it with the glue. The one I received had so much glue that I had to tear off some of the sides so they lay flat…

I also had an issue with the first page tearing off causing the binding to come loose, but I soon realized it was operator error. Our instinct pushes the first page back where the edge of the paper meets the same edge of the envelope. But since it's glued, like all the inside pages of a book are glued to the cover, it needs to be folded back where the glue meets the book cover and you never have that problem.
