I want to love it as Pentalic seems to be the only company.

I want to love this as Pentalic seems to be the only company that makes watercolor magazines out of 300gsm paper. While I really like the paper inside, the magazine itself isn't very well made. I read some reviews where people had single sheets that just fell out of the magazine and I was a little concerned about that. I think Pentalic read the reviews because they just overdid it with the glue. The one I received had so much glue that I had to tear off some of the sides so they lay flat. (mostly this issue was on the front/back of each signature). When I tried to lay the front cover a bit flat while sketching a test drawing, the front cover came off completely. I love the paper so much that I've just sealed it with painter's tape for now, but I don't know if I like the paper enough to deal with that much extra glue, or the chance of going back to a magazine with peeling pages to get. Paper, it was very comfortable to draw on it, the paper perfectly absorbed water without deforming. The wet-on-wet watercolor was really good and I had to swipe the water a few times as it soaked it up so quickly. The paint also dried very quickly. Aside from the issue with the adhesive, the only thing I really didn't like about the pen loop journal was something I could definitely do without, but I imagine some people will like it. I was able to rip it out of the ribbon along with the bookmark fairly easily.
