The holes match and mate with cloth masks with similarly shaped filters. The problem is that masks don't typically form a seal around the nose and mouth, so you don't really get the effect of filters since all the air comes from the point of least resistance (at the uncovered edges). I cut one and it has three layers of filter material. You get ten filters but only five replacement exhaust caps. Which is a bit annoying because each filter uses 2 of these so you end up with an odd solo bullet. In general it is like this.
