This is a must have for upgrading a 2011 iMac from HDD to SSD; however, it will not be easy for everyone. especially if you don't usually disassemble electronics. I recommend having 2 people on hand to reduce anxiety when something is stuck or difficult to reach in a confined space and you need 2 hands free (another person can hold/balance the LCD screen). Some cable connections are VERY small/thin and can break under load. Alone I walked very slowly and methodically finished in a couple of hours. Everything works great, my Mac is faster than ever and absolutely QUIET. While the videos that OWC offers on Youtube are excellent, I feel like there are additional tools and strategies that you might want to consider. In my case, the first connector (tiny connector, tiny/thin wires that look like they might snap at the slightest wrong push) didn't break without a lot of effort. The ribbon cable was actually attached to the LCD screen with glue (not expected either). Also be prepared for a lot of DUST to be removed, so a vacuum (preferably by hand) and compressed air are very helpful. I would limit blowing dust off the fans with compressed air (and avoid spraying directly onto circuit boards to prevent damage). Dust causes problems when attempting to clean dirt from the glass and LCD screen. I wore disposable rubber gloves (to keep oil off my hands on the screen) most of the time during installation and kept the glass/screen in a separate room. You can also buy a cheap pair of lint-free microfiber gloves (for cleaning lenses) to wear when it's time to dust off the last of the dust and close your eyes. Magnets will drive you crazy unless you have something to guide the screws in tight spaces. The OWC video mentions the tweezers as part of the set, but they are not included and this is likely a reference to the previous set. An extra paddle (spelling?) might come in handy too. I also recommend that you clone your hard drive to an SSD and CONFIRM BOOT (target drive mode) before attempting the installation. If something goes wrong during installation, you should be sure when troubleshooting that it is not an SSD. SuperDuper is a great software for creating bootable discs (free for all files clone option).
