These waffle lamps were very easy to install once you know how basic household wiring works. I installed a couple just below the 2x4 and since there is no light box in the ceiling I had no problems. I installed 9 of these on the ceiling in my garage. The luminous flux/brightness selector is located inside the junction box that comes with each intermediate light, so the brightness must be set for each individual light. Changing it later is only possible if you pull on each individual light and move the selector switch to the desired position. I had 2 switches that broke, they are plastic and cheap. However, I was still able to select the brightness with a smaller lever (I think that was annoying more than anything). I ended up using the 5000k setting because I needed a bright white light when working on my car in the dark. the garage.
