No problem with my Sony CD-Rs

I've never had a problem with my Sony CD-Rs. Actually I switched to Sony many years ago after having so many problems with other brands and trying most of them. I got tired of burning a CD only to find it was unreadable and I had to throw it away. I used to have about 50-75% success burning CDs until I switched to Sony. There was one brand (my own computer store's brand) that was so bad that I ended up just throwing away the leftover spindle full of blank CD-Rs because they were full of defects. Obviously, I cannot disregard the experiences of others. but my experience with sony is exemplary. It makes me nervous when I read that the data becomes unreadable over time, but so far I'm fine. I have Sony CDs that I recorded years ago and they play just as well as the day I recorded them, and I don't always handle them with the greatest care either. Based on my experience I'll probably stick with Sony as Sony really is the only brand I haven't had any issues with. Although I seem to recall that Memorex did reasonably well too. I will definitely consider the negative reviews. Now that I've read about the potential for data loss over time when using a Sony CD-R, I'm investing in the 500GB external drive I had my eye on. I can then back up all of my data so I have it available in case I need to burn another copy of the CD along the way. When I saw that the Memorex CD-Rs were on sale I decided to give it another try. God, I should have listened to myself when I said I would stay with Sony. None of the Memorex CD-Rs caught fire. Passed about 5 in a row. Not alone! As soon as I put in a Sony disc it burns like butter. Right after that, I threw the new Memorex spindle in the bin along with the remaining 45 CDs (dΓ©jΓ  vu, again and again). That's all. I will never again deviate from what I know to be true. As far as I know, Memorex representatives might write bad reviews about Sony. LAUGH OUT LOUD! Sony was infallible for me and I will always stay with Sony.
