The best lube I've used

So I've spent some time reading about lubrication, way more than any normal person, and I've learned something. Most of the time, there are no better lubricants than industrial and automotive lubricants. They have improved and improved over countless years and produce very good quality lubricants. There are also many specialty lubricants, but are there better ones? I have an old set of Shimano Deore hubs from my Kona process which are noisy and have seen better days so I decided to experiment with the three lubes I have. Phil Wood: I've only been using Phil's for everything for over 25 years with great results and no complaints. Bearings almost never fly out at high speeds. Finish Line Ceramic: just bought. I disassembled, cleaned and repackaged the hubs with every lube, my results are below. Your results may vary. Phil: Spins freely but is still very loud. I can hear and feel the roughness in the bearings.76 Dynalife: A little more drag than Phil and a little smoother. Better than Phil's grease for worn bearings, but still noisy and harsh. Finish Line Ceramic: More durable than the other two lubricants, but runs very quietly, almost like new. Put a load on them and spin them for a while. A small amount leaked through the seals and they seemed to loosen a bit. Still very quiet and smooth. My Verdict: With new or unworn bearings, both Phil and Dynalife are good options, Dynalife is a little softer. With new OR worn bearings, Finish Line Ceramic is VERY good. You can't go wrong with this lubricant, it keeps what it promises. I recently rebuilt my Kona's pedals using Phil's lube. I'll repeat these on my Specialized with Finish Line and see how they work. You have covered many, many thousands of kilometers since the last repair.
