Review on ๐Ÿ•๏ธ SoftstartRV SSRV3T: Simplify RV Air Conditioner Unit Start-up with Limited Power Generator - AC Hard Starter Kit for HVAC Bundle (1 Pack) - Includes Easy Installation Kit by Justin Gore

The device works, but should actually be included in all RV air conditioners

I always wanted to buy this soft start for my old camper, because my two parallel A-iPower SC2000i (each 2000W starting / 1600 watts running - 4000 watts / 3200 watts parallel) the inverter generators would occasionally shut down when I started/running my 13.5 kBtu AC. I sold this camper and upgraded to a larger TT and decided to definitely give the soft start a try as the new TT came with a 15,000 Btu air conditioner. The price was better with a $30 discount coupon but still high (almost the cost of another smaller generator!). The installation was very easy and the installation was also easy enough, the instructions downloaded matched my device 100%. Gathering tools, finding the conductors, removing the AC cover, and running the wires took longer than connecting the wires. cold. I tried running AC with just a generator and it ran for about 10 minutes before shutting down, but the SC2000i on its own just didn't have enough power; I think a single 2200w generator would probably work as some reviews of this product confirm, but YMMV. I could try again but I don't mind taking both generators with me as I use a microwave, kettle and other appliances when boondocking and want to provide enough power. I'm just glad my AC has no trouble starting and I don't have to worry about keeping my family cool on 100+ day days. 15 amp plug and plugged into a 15 amp home outlet. I was able to run AC power on the CT with no problems starting or running for hours, which did NOT work with the old CT which kept tripping the house circuit breaker. Of course I didn't take all the variables into account with my new TT: the new TT AC is a Coleman Mach 15 HP2 15k BTU and the old unit was a Dometic (model unknown, 13.5k BTU). Is the newer AC more efficient or does it use less cranking/mileage than the older TT AC? I used a 30 amp plug on the only generator to power the air conditioning before it shut down. Should I try a 20 amp plug/adapter? My 1000w microwave is tripping the breaker on a connection to the generator - could the problem be the generator? In any case, I think I made a wise purchase. We were already offline with TT and had to run AC through the generators for cooling last month and had no problems. I've even left it in ECO mode, which throttles the alternator up and down to save gas and lower decibels when the load fluctuates and the AC never throttles the alternator anywhere near max (my old Dometic always had both alternator chokes). all the time at the maximum), maybe each of them works at 50%. If you can afford this device, I say go for it. I think it has given me peace of mind and am happy with my standalone generator setup. RVs and TTs should indeed come with these units as standard equipment, but I can see why they don't. I don't regret it, even for the price. Highly recommended if you are using an AC generator.
