You get what you pay for

I took two of these lamps for a small project - I found two vases at a hardware store and thought it would be better to use them as lamps. I decided to buy two lamp bases to attach to vases to use as table lamps. Not sure if this project would work, I wanted something economical and it certainly fit the bill. However, remember that you get what you pay for. The finish is surprisingly good. There are no rough scratches or scuffs. However, there is a felt pad on the underside that is practically unusable. It fell a few minutes after I took it out of the box. Which is not surprising, since there is no real "base" in them - the felt has almost nothing to attach. It gave me a look at the electrical wiring and I'm happy to say it looks really good. But that brings me to my next complaint - the weight. They are very light. Putting something like a salt lamp on it will surely hinder the movement of the lamp. However, if you prefer a minimalist style with a lightweight, vintage-style LED bulb that screws into the base, you can absolutely move the bulb around with minimal cord pulling. To make this a little better I ordered some small weights to glue into the wiring cavity which I hope will make the base sturdier. However, I am satisfied with my purchase. I knew I had to make compromises at this price. My biggest complaint is with the foam-based design, which really didn't work.
