: The company has tried several times to contact me and offer a new toaster or a refund in exchange for removing this negative review. I turned down their offers as it seemed deceptive. Please note that many negative reviews may be amended or removed for this reason. While I value customer service, I cannot remove the truth in good faith. Wow, that's TERRIBLE! I bought 2 of these toasters at once due to a food allergy and on the same toast both need to be set to 3.5 and the other to 4.5 to get the same results. Unfortunately, not every piece of toast — all the same size and brand — is uniform. Sometimes it makes the toast inedible, other times it burns the edges but barely bakes through the middle. And worst of all, one side doesn't always cook through - so you can toast the other side, but it's the same as putting it in there. Sometimes only one side of the toast burns. It's totally incompatible! Also note that when you first get them you will need to plug them in from the outside first and run them a few times as the vapors are really intense. It will go away eventually, but I wouldn't do it in a confined space.
