Bought with some hesitation as I have bought battery powered devices in the past and we don't have enough power and the batteries run out quickly. At the moment, this device is capable of finely and evenly grinding pepper, and its performance does not dry up with prolonged use. The charging station fits snugly next to the cooker and its charging indicator is clearly visible. The only difficulty is that when you put the device back on the base, you have to align the hole on the back of the device with the charging dock. However, we have found that you can drop the base into the stand with about 1/2" to 1/4" engagement to rotate the top, find a mating connector that fits into the device, and then fully lower the device until it is fully lowered and pushed back including the charging port. It's funny how we train to overcome the little things in life. It just took a bit of time and practice to figure it out. Very happy
