Bought for use with a heavy bag. You are up to the task. Fits: I ordered and received a medium size. My foot size is 10 and my calf is medium to small. They fit perfectly. If you have large calves I would recommend a large one as the top strap doesn't have much length to accommodate my moderate calf size. Filling: moderate. As mentioned, I use them for heavy bag work, mostly low kick work. The heavy ones I use are quite hard on the bottom like most others as the filling settles. These pads provide enough protection to only cause moderate pain on hard hits. My shins aren't hardened yet, but these pads will harden them while protecting them from damage. Quality: As I've only recently bought these I can't comment on the durability, but the stitching and materials seem good enough for my purposes. In my subjective opinion, these pads are suitable for my purposes and inexpensive. This, along with the great price and fast delivery, is the reason I gave it a 5 star rating.
