does its job very well. I did a lot of leveling and measuring the shoreline of my pond (1 acre, about 200ft by 200ft) and my 700ft gravel driveway. The optical system isn't perfect and I have to tweak it a bit to get a sharp picture (let's just say it's not a Leupold scope :-) if you know what I mean), but it works.ps Ah yes , if you old tired eyes like mine, you need the best glasses you have or it will be difficult to focus on the scale and ruler at the same time. Tip: Defocus the background a bit to read the scale, then focus on the ruler to read the numbers. So you can get an accuracy of 1/4 inch at 200 feet. More than enough for most applications.
