Review on Top Quality Grain-Free Salmon Dog Food with Fruits & Vegetables: Made in the USA [Natural Dry Food for Dogs of All Breeds and Sizes] by Cathy Sharp

Two of my friend's three dogs love this food; the other hit him cool

I got this for my friends dogs (Sophie, Cassie and Sadie) to supplement with other food. Two dogs ate it enthusiastically but the third (Sadie) was cool and only sniffed it but didn't eat it. As you can see they (see photo of a dog) are spoiled for hand feeding. The food itself is small, dark and round. It's made in the US (e.g. Ohio) but I'm not sure where the ingredients come from. The ingredients are good except for the lentils and peas (see note). First 20 Ingredients: Salmon Meal, Red Lentils, Chickpeas, Green Peas, White Fishmeal, Canola Oil, Carrots, Celery, Beets, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach, Natural Flavor, Ground Flaxseed, Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Seaweed. Flour, New Zealand mussels, cranberries, etc. Please note that if the dog is not allergic to grains, it is not recommended to feed him exclusively grain-free. This is because veterinarians are discovering a link between heart disease (like dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs) and grain-free dog food. This disease is mainly associated with foods that contain peas, lentils, other legumes, or potatoes as the main ingredients, and such foods include lentils, peas, and chickpeas. However, I believe that you should only feed this food to your dog as a supplement to your dog's diet and not as an exclusive meal. I like that the bag closes with a zipper. This keeps the pellets fresh. The current price of $16.99 for £4 is competitive but expensive. It's a good supplement as long as the dog eats it, but I wouldn't feed it exclusively grain-free.
