Review on 🎸 1/8" Small Side Marker Dots - Abalone Green Inlay Stickers for Guitars & Bass, Enhancing Fret Visibility by James Dominick

A good temporary solution if you're not too picky

I got these for side points to fit on an old Gibson L-4 that I've converted to left handed (saddle and bridge can be restored go to the right if I later sell them, but I don't want to drill holes in the neck for left dots). I also don't play with a strap and use the full neck, so the lack of side points is an issue. I agree with the other reviewer that the BP (black pearl) is actually dark blue, but on side dots you never notice the difference. What you'll notice is that the dots are larger in diameter (about 4mm or nearly 5/32 inch) than any dots on the side of a guitar I've seen and are significantly wider than the dots on the on the right my L-4. So the fit isn't exactly natural (double dots on the 12th fret look weird), but I'll never miss it in low light. If you've ever played old guitars with shrunken necks, you could feel real dots, not dimples or protrusions. It's something I'm used to, and it's actually interesting to notice where my thumb is when I'm playing different chords - I'm actually very rarely over a point. I only notice them when moving up and down. First I cut off each dot from the larger strip, I just found it easier to deal with the smaller one. Sheet of paper. In terms of adhesion, I've been wearing them for a few weeks now and play every day. I haven't had a single issue with the dots falling off or rising at the edges. Bottom Line: As side points, they get the job done if you can tolerate their looks.
