Review on 🐠 Penn-Plax Aquarium Air Stone Aerator Attachment: Promote Optimal Tank Aeration Effortlessly with Continuous Stream of Bubbles, 10 x 2 Inches by Tami Francis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

At first only 25% worked and now after 3 weeks 75% of the length is working. I like the wall he creates.

It definitely releases a lot of bubbles. When I first got it, I soaked it in a bucket of water for a couple of hours. Then scrub lightly with a regular toothbrush. After hooking it up to an air hose, I was able to get it to release bubbles only in a vertical or diagonal position. When it was flat nothing came out. I brushed it lightly again and then it started deflating about 33% of its length when flat. So I put it in my 20 liter tank. Lay it flat on the floor and it worked fine. I upgraded my pump to a dual air pump and connected one of the outlets directly to this air stone. Now about 75% blisters after about 3 weeks of use. I see that there is a small amount of bubbles in the remaining 25%, but a very small amount, about the size of a pen tip. For me it works about 75% at the moment and it creates a nice bubble wall that the fish like to swim and play through and just let the bubbles carry them up. Make sure both ends are tight and test it in a container of water first before putting it in the aquarium. Scrub a little with a light toothbrush if nothing comes out. And make sure you use a powerful pump. If you separate the air, he may not be getting the maximum amount of air he needs. It's heavy enough to stay on the ground, but I buried it under gravel to hide the plastic.

Pros
  • The air stone can be placed anywhere in the aquarium. Blue color blends in with surroundings or can be hidden under gravel.
Cons
  • Neutral
