Review on Universal Ceiling Fan Wall Control Switch Kit - Wall Mounted Replacement for Honeywell, Prominence Home, Hunter, Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fans with Lights (Gang Box Not Included) by Tommy Clement

I bought these because they were simple and did what I needed. Nowhere in the description did I see that a standard wall plate wouldn't work. Apparently the wall panels are property of the switch, so they need to be placed in a separate block. Update: After installing 5 of these switches in my house, 1 was up and running straight away, 2 weeks after installing 2 more the variable resolution stopped. Speed. 1 other failed completely. Their installation is not complicated, but they are very cheap. I started switching to a single pole Lutron switch: TGFSQ-FH-WH Toggler Fan Speed Control White. It seems to be working much better. In short, I do not recommend this switch.
