Review on πŸ”₯ Chemtronics Desoldering Braid: Chem-Wik Rosin 10-50L 0.10", 50ft - Efficient Desoldering Solution for Electronics by Billy Braggs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very important. Works perfectly! The best I've ever used. highlighted.

I found this wick in the Northridgefix guy's videos. I used a really narcotic wick. It fell apart and spat the solder back into the through hole, holes. It made it worse. I would use a 1 foot or longer wick as it hardly absorbs any solder! It would fall apart! But this chemtronic works very well. A tiny piece of 1cm is enough to suck up all the BGA pads on an iPhone Tristar or Touch IC chip. It picks up lots of solder, doesn't spit it out, has the best flux and more of it than many, and won't fall apart! Cost around $19 for 50 feet is not bad at all. It's cheaper than some per foot and works better, saving you time and the amount of wick you need to use at one time. That way I can basically use 1" wick from Chemtronics instead of 3 or 4" other materials, and I'm less likely to pull BGA pads (mostly VERY unlikely). I recommend this wick! This is probably comparable to the good wick that Louis Rossmann uses.

Pros
  • Ultra fine desoldering wick
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
