Earlier this year our ISP upgraded the internet to high speed service, requiring me to replace my old modem and router to take advantage of the new internet speeds. . To save money by not buying separate modem and router modules, I opted for a combo modem-router. After a few days of research, and taking into account the assumptions that separate modem and router units may work better in some cases, I chose this TP-Link modem router based on very good reviews and a good price. Like most home users who use the internet for normal daily needs (no complicated setup for specific network needs), I've been using it for half a year now with no problems. It's basically plug and play, the only step I had to do besides assembling the device and cables was to call the ISP and give them the MAC address so they can activate the new modem. It works quite well, our internet runs at the expected, if not the best, speed.
