The coffee maker's attractive block and French press are quite low-tech in nature. This one gets the job done, but lacks a few simple design cues that would make it that much better. First, the volume markings on the inside walls of the pot - we don't always make a full pot and need to measure the water accurately to measure the coffee accurately. Second, even though the pan is double-walled and insulating, the lid has large crevices, even when closed, that allow heat to escape. A lid that fits snugly when closed will keep coffee hotter for longer.
