Pros: The meat thermometer itself looks well made. At first glance, the Android app seemed well designed and easy to use. The thermometer even peeked into the phone app with ease. Cons: Unfortunately I had to return the meat thermometer due to a fundamental error in the Android app. The app will only send an alert notifying you when the desired meat temperature is reached when the app is actively opened and viewed on your smart device screen. If the device is locked or idle (in your pocket) or if the device is being used to view another app, you will not receive a temperature alert until you open the smart device app and view it manually. The way it currently works completely defeats the purpose of signaling. The hardware box itself will beep when the sensors reach the desired temperature, but if you're in another room or grilling/smoking outside, you won't know the set temperature has been reached until you unlock the device and open the app. Please check the CloudBBQ app reviews on the Google Play Store to see that many other people have complained about this issue. If the smoker temperature is outside of the desired range, this setting will not work. Search for another product.
