Affordable, durable, plug and play and works great. Great offer.

With a product like this, I sometimes test it right out of the box. The scanner should just work. Plug it in, start the car and read the codes. That's what I needed and that's what it did. The first thing I noticed was that it was heavier than my previous scanner (the one I bought on E-Bay, made in China)... and it's noticeably better built and made of thicker plastic. My car had an intermittent check engine light... and this time when I started driving the check engine light was off but the scanner picked up the code it gave the day before and then allowed me to clear the code. Then I purposely left it on and just felt it on the floor. A few days later I checked it and it was still on and there were no scratches on the screen. He passed my exam. I then hooked it up to another machine and it worked great. In my opinion everyone should have one. You are driving on the freeway and the check engine light comes on. Plug in the scanner, read the codes. Google the code you see along with your make and model, read some of the top rated results, and then you'll have a pretty good idea of whether it's serious or not, whether to park it and call a tow truck should or whether you can ride. That. If you're in the middle of nowhere, this could either save you from wrecking your engine forever, or calling a tow truck and wasting money just on a simple code due to a faulty gas cap or whatever. If you don't have one of them, take it to the mechanic, they'll tell you something and maybe charge you for something that didn't even need to be done. Or at least charge you $100 just to diagnose it and give you the codes. This is not a problem. If you have a car, take this and put it in the glove box. It will pay for itself in no time.
