Wenger Swiss Military watch sat on my bedside table for years due to dead battery and I didn't like the standard leather strap. I got fed up with the watch running out of power, took it to a guy for a battery change and after $5 and 45 seconds I was back in business. He said he didn't have any metal bands (my preference) but said I could find one online. I found this one, made sure it was the right size (24mm) and after a few days spent about 20 minutes fitting the band. It's definitely heavier (which I prefer) and looks great with a silver watch. I'm not a watchmaker so it took me a few minutes to remove the old strap, a few more minutes to put the new strap on and another 10 minutes to remove the two links. The packaging was great and included all the tools I needed to make it myself, although I wish it had instructions on how to remove the links. (Instructions found on YouTube). I'm very happy to have my watch running again for $20 and less than half an hour of effort and now I wish I hadn't waited so long!
