I liked this chair so much that after the first purchase I bought a second one. The second chair was disappointing. My first purchase consisted of a seat with a backrest and seat already combined. For unknown reasons, the back of the second seat was separated from the seat. You have to connect it by sliding the metal bracket connected to the backrest under the seat. Then you have to screw it tight. That's the problem. The metal bracket is slightly curved and designed for four holes. DO NOT connect this bracket to the bottom of the seat as the bracket is bent. The four holes on the bottom of the seat also don't line up with the holes in the bracket. The only way to connect it is to use two holes. This means the backrest does not sit flush with the bottom of the seat, making it difficult to recline while seated. The fact that I was only able to use two screws instead of four will most likely affect the lifespan of this chair as well. I have no idea why the manufacturer went from a one-piece seat with back and bottom to a two-piece system that was so poorly designed. . Did the manufacturer NOT test the new product? I bought my new chair for work and I really hate it. Vertical height (after adjustment) is ok. The seat itself is fine. but not being able to recline in the seat is a royal pain. Instead of fiddling with returns, I buy a seat cushion with a strap, but instead of using it as a seat cushion, I put it in front of the backrest for extra support.
