Firstly it would be almost impossible to assemble by one person. You need one person to hold the pieces together and another to tighten the screws. The most frustrating thing is that there is no room to turn the screws that attach the seat to the legs. You literally have to turn the screw about 1/4 turn, then remove and reinsert the hex wrench. OMG - it took forever! Those are long screws. We had to build three stools, so we had to figure out the best way to do it. Finally, my husband cut off an allen wrench with a couple of wire cutters to make it about an inch long and used it in his drill press. You have to be very careful or the screw will fly - but at least we managed to finish the 2nd chair in less than 30 minutes. The first chair took almost an hour. We decided to return the 3rd stool as we didn't need it. The stools look great and seem sturdy enough for our grandchildren to sit at the bar. Let's see how long they last.
