This is a simple wooden stool. Assembly should be a breeze. Not so. This is an absolute nightmare to put together. First, for use with the screws, the tool ONLY goes into the top of each screw, making insertion difficult. Then all the screw holes were drilled slightly smaller than the screw, so significant pressure is required to get the screws in and tightened from the start. Firstly it would be almost impossible to assemble by one person. You need one person to hold the pieces together and another to tighten the screws. The most frustrating thing is that there is no room to turn the screws that attach the seat to the legs. You literally have to turn the screw about 1/4 turn, then remove and reinsert the hex wrench. There aren't that many goods and they are easy to identify from the description and pictures. My only complaint is why do assembly furniture manufacturers insist on using hex head screws? These 29 inch stools are almost spot on, but we had a problem with the hardware and sent them back. The quality and processing of the wood was excellent. Brilliant but not overdone. The wood we saw met the standards. Hex bolts were a problem for us. One of the four screws securing the seat and five of the twelve screws in the legs broke off during assembly of the chair, leaving half of the screw in the pilot hole and inaccessible without special tools and skill. I like these stools. They have a nice clean look. A wooden seat is difficult to sit on for long periods of time (as with any wooden seat). I would like to buy the soft type but the reviews weren't very good for the one I found. I've also found that if you step back too far, your butt will fall off.
