Like all these straps to date, they don't lock properly. Although it is slightly tapered (unlike previous generations), the back end of the taper where the leather attaches to the belt does not taper and will snag on the belt loops. So this belt is equal to 50%. It's easier to get the belt loops through (although the taper is still not good enough), but you can't pull them back out. The back end of the strap gets caught in each loop. The elasticity is just amazing. Everyone should use these belts. But they need improvement, and this one is suffering from growing pains.
