Review on πŸ”§ Micro Mark Softback Polishing Sticks: Achieve Professional-Grade Polishing Results Easily! by Bobby Posner

Good material but durability not perfect

They were very good and lasted several hours of daily use. I don't think I can add anything to how well they perform that others haven't already said, but I did run into a few issues, mainly with their abrasive performance and some delamination. First, the higher grades (3k, 5k and 7k) all lost their abrasiveness very quickly. I used the same side of each stick just to keep track of how well they held up and all of those larger grains seemed to smooth out very quickly (I know they were all smooth to begin with, but it's obvious). that one side has become glossier than the other and the unused side gives better results). This has rendered these sticks almost useless, serving only as a stopover between the lower abrasives and a completely different polishing stick to smooth the part after finishing sanding. Also, these three sticks seem stiffer than the others for some reason. They're all a piece of hard plastic with a little layer of foam between the plastic and the sanding surface, and all of those high grit sticks look like there's no foam in the middle at all. The other issue has to do with overall durability, and this is where they lost points for me. I try to keep sanding surfaces clean and apply a drop or two of water to remove accumulated dust and this has caused some sticks to begin to delaminate and at best wrinkle on the sanding surface. , in the worst case the edges come off. They also begin to act like they are losing their abrasiveness, but nowhere near as high grit sticks. To be honest I think they are pretty good and have given me fantastic results. Considering the price is a bit steep for something that wears out so quickly, I might start looking elsewhere for other solutions, but so far they're working pretty well.
