Review on Get Ready For Adventure With UNIONBAY'S Cargo Shorts - Available In Regular And Big & Tall Sizes! by Matthew Guiney

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Get a Size Smaller than You Normally Get

Update:I dropped the rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. The reason is that the velcro on the large side pockets is poorly positioned and weak. I'm always worried my keys or other items will spill out when hiking. The Unionbay that I bought at Costco 2 years ago do not have that problem.I have bought these Unionbay Cargo Shorts for the last few years. I love the number of pockets they give you. The ones I bought at Costco the last few years were properly sized. So I bought the same size (36) on Best Buy, and.they turned out to be way to big. The front draped in and looked awkward because of the extra material. The problem was the same in two shorts of two different colors. So I bought a size 34, and they fit very well. I wish I were a size 34. But I'm not.haven't been since college. But in Unionbay shorts, and only with them, I'm a 34.The sizing issue is the only reason I give these shorts 4 stars instead of 5.I don't find the belt they include all that useful. I use a standard leather belt instead. If you like lots of pockets to carry cell phone and other stuff on your hikes, I highly recommend these Unionbay shorts.

Pros
  • Fits... Well made
Cons
  • The shorts have a strong chemical smell when first purchased
