My 7 year old son doesn't hike as much as my 10 year old who just had a hole in the sole of his shoe (another brand) after almost a year of use. When I was looking at these shoes the other day I had to calculate how long I had bought them because I couldn't believe it was almost three months. We live in a mild climate. No snow. You don't go to school. Appearance, fabric and leather well preserved. The insoles are intact and comfortable. Sometimes he complains about the uniform, and it was comfortable for him. He manages to land in every mud puddle and this shoe is good for that. This is our second pair. The first pair lasted much longer and my kids don't like their shoes very much. It's hard to believe that I can spend $60 on a pair of shoes that aren't on an angle grinder and have the sole worn out in less than three months. I would give a very positive rating based on this first pair and I'm wondering if something happened to the only line up for this pair. 0 stars for outsole durability, 5 stars for past, fit, inner and outer durability and water resistance. Photos are attached. I wish I knew what shoes to buy for his next pair.
