This art box is an intricate set at a bargain price. All natural materials, solid wood that does not deform. As a carpenter, I can say that the box is well made. Wood connections are tight and tight. All corners are really straight. This box will not easily break or deform. The handles may need to be screwed in more tightly upon arrival. Of course, the inside of the boxes is only partially soiled, but folks. will we really be THAT right? Drawers are 1" and 1/2" deep. (Not 2) it's deep enough for many works of art, but not for the biggest pipes. It's also deep and wide enough to fit the largest 12-inch iPad Pro in a desk drawer. I bought mine to use as an iPad stand. It's where I keep my cables, chargers, Kindle, and my small iPad Mini, along with my phone, lighter, and lots of packs of cigarettes. Basically it's a fantastic mobile workstation that's portable, clean and durable. Put some graphite powder or wax on the underside of the drawer slides to make the drawers open even smoother and easier than usual. The boxes are not locked. but to make it more convenient when traveling you can use a strap like those that tie luggage. Or for a very traditional classic look you can use a leather strap like the ones that hold the old school reel. When the easel is not in use, the top lays flat and can act as a table top. It is hinged on the back and folds up like a tablet case. As an artist, I can say yes, take it. This box is a good start for a gift. But open up first. Fill it up with goodies. For example: tea bags, spices, art supplies, gift cards, sewing supplies or baking supplies. An easel can serve as a stand for a cookbook. Cons: 1. The little lip, which is the main function of an easel, is too short and flat to support anything other than a whiteboard canvas. It holds the board, but any other object of any thickness will slide or fall off the easel. Large items such as books, iPads or suitable wood-framed canvases can still be used by placing them in front of the edge rather than on the edge. 2. This is only a disadvantage when you attach thin drawing paper to the easel. The drawing surface has a small texture that can be transmitted through certain media.3. Possibly made by slave labor. At least that's the only way I can see that you can charge such a low price for a fancy, intricate object like this art box. Conclusion: This box is suitable for watercolor, marker, charcoal, pencil and ink artists. Acrylic and oil artists are limited to smaller tubes. This box is also suitable for minimalists and those who try to surround themselves with natural materials instead of synthetic or fake wood products filled with toxic resins.
