I bought these with "solid color satin ribbons" to make handsets for my boys, one for grabbing toys and the other just for walking. It was a fun DIY project. I stained the rings in rubbing alcohol and food coloring and the wood took the color well. I then did a rinse with coconut oil and wax to rub them into the rings and then cut off the tape to attach them to. I'll add a photo soon!
