I've had this charger for a week and keep a close eye on it. I have a Vette that is known to be a battery parasite, so I stick a charger to it. I drove to work all week. The charger starts up in full amp mode and then switches to full volt mode where it appears to be putting out 14.1 volts. It then goes into float mode for a short time and then eventually starts running at a trickle, putting out 14.1 volts and sinking the current down to 0.2 amps. When I checked it in the morning, it was still working the first two times. It really bothered me because I expected it to float. trickle all day will damage the battery. Actually I don't know why it's floating in front of the trickle, it doesn't seem right. However, this morning I noticed that it was in "idle" mode and switching between trickle. Well it's basically float. So I'm not sure about this device now. I bought it for float if I keep the car for weeks and don't drive it. So not super happy, but not super disappointed either. I'll let you know when I can. Thing is cheaply made, I wouldn't drop it. his body is like an aluminum skin, very thin and cheap. I would pay $5. more for a good case and can build my own if I like the device.
