I bought this speaker cable to replace my old 16 AWG cable and run a few more lines. In the end it turned out to be very high quality, but it is very difficult to work with it. On a positive note, the red line on the wire is very useful compared to the wire coloring the wire itself. It's a thick material, almost certainly 14 AWG: all cable tests have shown it to be the correct 14 gauge wire resistance, so you're good to go. Like the neutral wire, the wire is very stiff. It hasn't given me any problems, but it can be difficult to work with in all projects. For the negatives, isolation was a big issue for me. I bought this expecting regular round insulation. It wasn't: it's actually an oval (or egg) shape. The conductive copper is close together, there is a little insulation in between, and then the other sides of the insulation are thicker. This makes stripping the wire much more difficult. With practice, I was able to strip the wire without cutting a single strand of copper, but it took quite a long time. The wire is also very difficult to separate into red and black sides. Get ready to really tire your hands disassembling! Would I buy this again? Pretty sure. However, it is important to note that the "processing" is quite complicated. Luckily, when you're done, you're done. I would probably look for a different brand if I needed more cables later.
