A little disappointed and watch your toes

So I was happy to get this table because it's Melissa and Doug and they always have good quality but this time I feel like I can now paying more for the name than quality I'm always used to getting quality from this brand. I have a lot of puzzles, food and so many things like sticky, catchy things, watercolors, I have a lot of them! When I see a good sale I go crazy because it's always high quality and that's exactly what I expected. The legs are very sturdy, as are the drawers and all, but I don't feel that the table top is as solid as the rest of the table. I'd love to take a better photo but my kids table right now is completely littered with toys and all. The upper consists of two parts that meet in the middle, creating a seam. If you look closely at other pictures you will see this and I know some kids like to jump on their desks and go crazy not mine but they like to climb things and jump but they don't like jumping up and down. I told them not to climb on that table at all. If liquid is spilled it will end up in the crack and I don't feel like the wood at the top is as thick and strong as the rest of the table. The bins are also very easy to pull out and as they are wooden and can be quite heavy depending on the contents I would not keep the bins with small children who will just pull them out as they just push them forward. so easy and the first time i completely forgot about it and i had blockages in them and bam my toe and it hurt so it would have hurt a lot more as a kid. Wooden boxes need 2 hands, but it's quite difficult, because when you look at other people's pictures, you need to pull them out, and then grab the handles, so I know children and they don't think slowly or patiently, to slowly pull them out, and grab then the side grip; then they take another one, they just want their toy so they grab the basket and pull it out quickly and it falls to the ground because it's not that wide so there isn't much room to pull it out and the handles closed grab, that's a lot for us, adults, it's easier. I wish they were work boxes or at least longer containers so they don't just fall out. Honestly I wasn't sure if I would dock it at 1 or 2 stars. My kids are 5 and 7 years old and only use it for puppets, blocks and drawings.
