Pack of 6. Tested with a wet fingertip, they all made a high pitched sound that stopped as soon as contact with moisture ceased. The volume is too low to hear upstairs in the laundry room or basement bathroom. I placed one under the kitchen sink, one under each sink in the bathroom, and one on the floor behind the upstairs toilet. This left me with two unexpected spares. The pitch varies from device to device, how high can the capacity of non-replaceable batteries be? If any of them fail the monthly test, I'll open them up to see if the batteries in these sealed devices can be replaced. They appear to have a cheap plastic case with two probes sticking out. It seems to require a pretty good leak to activate. Unfortunately they are made in China.
