New televisions often have a wide base. If you have a small table that can't support wide legs, then you need a stand like this. I was impressed with the durability. I put a nice big 55 inch TV on it and it's stable and doesn't wobble. In addition, it has lateral pan and tilt adjustment. I made sure the up and down toggle bolts were tight but not too tight to be adjustable but not slipping. The base is a very glossy tempered glass that looks great. It can collect dust in my house, but it's easy to clean. The trick is to mount large TVs high enough that they don't hang low or touch the base to get the vertical mounting brackets lower on the TV where the holes still line up. There were many screws to choose from. I chose the shortest one, worried about the long ones pressing against the back of the screen. I have no problems with the product and can recommend it.
