I bought this as a product because I can't afford the expensive $650 specialty mouth guard from the dentist and my nighttime teeth grinding caused me to break a few fillings. Therefore, it seemed obvious to try this product at all. Putting it in my mouth without shaping it was a disaster, and not only did it give me a gag every time I tried it, it encouraged non-compliance due to the uncomfortable feeling. However, once I fitted it to my teeth, it was incredibly easy to tolerate and I use it almost every night when I sleep. Molding consisted of simply bringing a pot of water to a boil, then holding the mouthguard under water by the tongue for a few seconds, then quickly placing it in my mouth and sucking out all the air and water to allow the plastic to set shape of my teeth. He seems to be doing a good job so far, I think the proof will be in the pudding. if I don't have to go to the dentist again and pay for more expensive replacement fillings! I got 4 stars because although it prevents rasping and bruising well, my lips are protruding a lot and in the morning it looks like I've been fooling around in the collagen injection department a little longer than I would have like. I would recommend this product and buy it again.
