So I bought this Courant burner because I needed to use it on my kitchen counter for frying (cooking and serving right at the table). When this single burner arrived I quickly discovered that I could use it for multiple types of cooking with multiple types of pans! ADVANTAGES: 1. This hotplate heats up to its maximum temperature in about 3 minutes. *** When I was preparing a vegetable and chicken roast for two, I preheated this burner on the kitchen timer for 3 minutes, then it hit the full 1000 watt output and the RED BURNER lit up. APPEARED (as shown in the image below). *** I preheated my Lodge Mini Cast Iron Wok (2 minutes without olive oil, then I added my 3 tablespoons of olive oil). This made my pan perfect and ready to fry. for me and my bunny! The result is an outstanding and delicious roast! 2. 1000 watts (highest temperature) won't burn my food and cooks my food evenly when frying or sautéing.3. cook scrambled eggs. So I preheated the burner (I used a 9" non-stick pan) to medium-high in just 2 minutes. Then I added 1.5 tablespoons of butter and 4 large eggs. I gently stirred the eggs during cooking which resulted in the eggs being soft and evenly cooked and they were very juicy and delicious! I cooked 3 eggs in my mini wok for 20 minutes and had excellent hard boiled eggs. Tip: When cooking, place a wooden spoon on the pot to prevent it from boiling over. that works great! 5. I'm glad I bought this 1000w coil model because it doesn't stick and my pans have less.6. LOTS OF WARMTH! This burner is ideal for roasting, cooking vegetables in a saucepan, or reheating soups, stews, etc.7. Size: Compact, flat and light, ideal for traveling. And better quality than I expected. I highly recommend this product.
