Various fastening materials were used.

The hooks themselves are great. I used larger wood screws with rivets and my own stronger anchors where I had to go into the drywall. The ones that come with them are probably good, but I had the best ones on hand and didn't want to worry about them falling off. Some of them are heavier than recommended in the instructions. I'll update when they start bending.
