Review on HatToSocks Chiffon Scarf Sheer Sarong Women's Accessories : Scarves & Wraps by Erik Richardson

Washable, versatile, good buy

I bought this scarf in several colors: burgundy, turquoise, mustard, navy blue and black. It is now clearly stated that the scarf is 59 inches long and 18 inches wide. It is an inch less than 5 feet long. I'm 5ft 4in tall and hold my scarf in front of me so one edge touches the floor and the scarf touches the middle of my nose. These scarves are true to length. Not sure how much 5ft of fabric is too big. Short for a bandana Maybe too short for a scarf but not what is advertised. This scarf is long enough to do all sorts of things with it: handbag decoration, neckerchief, dress accent, headband. I don't know why the seller says they can't be washed. They are made of polyester chiffon and are washable. I hand washed them all on the first wash in case the color bleed. It was little, nothing extraordinary. wore navy blue and burgundy as a headband before washing so they contained makeup, sweat and oils that stayed in the fabric for weeks when I washed them. I hand rinsed them all separately after washing and then threw them in the dryer on a continuous press. Both arrived like new, no stains, no damage to the fabric and no stitching along the edges. I would recommend hand washing any color other than black or navy blue. Chiffon soaks up color so easily that it doesn't take much fabric flow to ruin the original color. Finally tags. A little care in removing them and they're no problem. There are two tags, short white and long black with brand names. White resembles elastic paper material, so it tears easily. Take a small pair of sharp scissors and cut off one side of the label where the stitching holes are. After you cut a hole in the seam, gently pull the scarf (keep close to the seam where the tags are) and make the tags in opposite directions, most of the tags will be in the holes in loosen the seams. After removing the label, take the tip of a pair of scissors or a needle and pry the remaining label material from under the stitching. The seam remains intact and the white label disappears. The black tag is real fabric, so you'll need to cut it all the way down, just below the seam line, which is easy to do with a small pair of scissors. The remaining fabric in the seam is almost invisible up close, the label is so narrow that I don't find it necessary to tuck the remaining fabric of the label under the seam. But if you want, you can use the same method as with the white tag. I only bought these to use as hair wraps, they give exactly the final look I was expecting. All colors are vibrant and match the shades shown here. They are worth the money and last a long time if you take good care of them.
