I really liked this set, especially for camping. It's very small - slightly larger than a soda can, but sufficient for my purposes. When I first took it out, I used it, cleaned it, dried it and put it away. When we got home from camping I took it out and noticed rust around the top of the carafe. Maybe I missed the spot while drying? Nevertheless, good stainless steel should not rust. I sent it back for an exchange as I really liked how compact and durable it is and the small carry case is great for travel. I have since used a new one after drying it thoroughly. So far, so good. It may just have been an accident, but remember that stainless steel may not be the best quality. Hope it doesn't rust again. crossed fingers
