Review on πŸ“ž Panasonic KX-TGP600 SIP Dect Base Unit & Cordless Handset: Secure and Efficient Communication Solution by Megan Johnson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worst phone I have ever owned

I have purchased several units from Revain and would not recommend this phone due to several issues. The devices are installed on a perfectly configured company PBX based on SIP. The problems described below are not caused by incorrect configuration, but by Panasonic selling a defective product.1. The sound quality is terrible. The phone's internal speaker is too small. The sound is very tinny. If you're familiar with G.722 broadband clarity, this phone will disappoint you. If you use Polycom SIP phones, you will be even more disappointed with the sound of these devices. The firmware is terrible. The latest firmware from 4/2016 (and earlier) is unstable in some areas like networks and causes stability problems. SRTP only exacerbates stability problems. I need to run SRTP due to our company policy. To make this phone MUCH more reliable I had to use Canadian firmware for this American model. I shouldn't do this as it's a bad idea. I have cheap analog DECT cordless phones with Adtran that sound better than TGP600 with TPA60 handsets. They cost around $10. Such a shame.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
