This is a replacement for the original. Camera quality is crisp and clear, true plug and play. Very happy with it, hope it lasts a few years (original made it 4 years). A few things to watch out for if you've never done an install: Lower the tailgate. Using a T25 hex screwdriver, unscrew the back panel (8 screws) on the tailgate (do not remove the plastic cover on top as you will not be able to access it). Socket wrench, use a T15 hex bit to loosen the 2 screws holding the unit in place. It helps if you have a magnetic bit to hold the screw in place, or a stick to get the screw out if you drop it. Pull the plug, swap chambers, screw in and swap everything. All this takes about 10 minutes.
